ABSTRACT

In the Western world, the general public hardly knows the "religion" of Zoroastrianism. It has laid claim to being the first Monotheist faith, preached by Zarathushtra around 4000 years ago, and lies at the root of much of Jewish, Christian and Islamic beliefs. Zarathushtra's is a message about a spirituality that progresses towards self-realization, fulfillment and completeness. God, in Zoroastrianism, is not a God of "Thou shalt" and "Thou shall not". The Creator does not care what you wear, what and when you eat or where, how and when you worship, etc. God is not about Fear, Guilt, Torment and Condemnation, but about Wisdom, Logic, Love and IS the very Substance of Creation. Zoroastrians are taught that their Leaders and Spiritual Guides are to be chosen through Loving Good Thinking, i.e. a thinking that is well-informed and benevolent. Only an informed and unbiased mind is capable of making truly righteous and principled choices. This sets the basis for a spiritual and political democracy and this is precisely the invitation of Zarathustra, the great Aryan Teacher of Truth and Right to Humanity.

ZOROASTRIANISM  The Spiritual Teachings of the Saviors.
Who fears God, doesn't know God.

The Choice of Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds.
Freedom from stultifying rituals, superstitious practices, fake spirituality and ceremonials.

Mind;  NO religion can have a monopoly on God (only spiritual teachings can - why ?)

He had it wrong again..In the western world, the by the general public hardly known "religion" of Zoroastrianism, and by its founder was called 'The Teachings of the Saviors', has laid claim to being the first Monotheist faith, the first Universal Teachings and the root of much of Jewish, Christian and Islamic beliefs.

Over the millenia, the words and compositions of its founder, one Zarathushtra Spitaman, (known to us by the Greek form of his name - Zoroaster), were lost due to passage of time and its language no longer in use.

Its original message was lost because of accidents of history, as libraries and books were burned again and again by invaders and its wise men were either killed, enslaved, deported or went into hiding. However, thanks to the long, arduous and painstaking work of literally hundreds of scholars in the last 200 or so years, the original Teachings of the Saviors, in the message of its "Manthran" (Thought-provoker) Zarathustra, has surfaced once again, revealing it as ever-relevant, unique and inspiring.

Zarathushtra's is a message about a spirituality that progresses towards self-realization, fulfillment and completeness, as a good creation of a totally good God. It is a message of freedom - freedom to choose, freedom from fear, freedom from guilt, freedom from sin, freedom from stultifying rituals, superstitious practices, fake spirituality and ceremonials. The God of Zarathustra, is not a God of "Thou shalt" and "Thou shall not". God in Zoroastrianism does not care what you wear, what and when you eat or where and when you worship. God instead cares how righteous, progressive, true to principles of the teaching, and good you are.

  1. God is not about Fear, Guilt, Torment and Condemnation. God is Wisdom, Logic, Love, Creator and the very Substance of Creation. Yes ,God, far from creating 'out of nothing", actually created out of His/Her own Substance. God does not have favorites and does not discriminate on the basis of nationality, gender, race or class. God treats humans with dignity and respect. God is not a slave master, or despot, among his serfs. God is man's Soul Mate and Partner. God is not Jealous, Wrathful or Vengeful. Man is not sinful, fallen or depraved. God has no opponent and heaven and hell are states of mind and human perceptions.

  2. Man was created to progress to God-likeness, as well as to eliminate wrong from the Cosmos, in partnership with God.
preserve our world
The Path of Loving Good Thinking (Vohu Manah) pictures humanity as the growing and evolving creation of a God that respects it, and wants it to collaborate in the task of preserving, nourishing, fostering and refreshing   this Living World of ours.

A true follower  of Zarathushtra is supposed to progress towards God-likeness by his/hers own choices of doing good, instead of wrong, or evil.

Preserve our environment
Zoroastrianism is thus the first truly ethical teaching of Mankind, teaching that mortals achieve their goal of god-likeness and becoming spiritually mature, by fighting evil through Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds. (the Tripple Gem of Zoroastrianism).

Daenam Saoshyantem (the Teaching of the Saviors), another name for Zoroastrianism, teaches the equality of all mortals before their Most Wise Creator and Good Lord of Life, who only sees a difference in righteousness and truthfulness to His principles among them. Thus there is equality of race, nation, gender and social position. In its most sacred prayer the Ahunavar (Choice of the Leader and the Guide), Zoroastrians are taught that their Leader and Spiritual Guide are to be chosen through Loving Good Thinking, i.e. a thinking that is a well-informed and benevolent, and only on account of their adherence to the True and Right Order.

This sets the basis for a spiritual and political democracy as far back as around 4000 years ago! Only an informed and unbiased mind is capable of making truly righteous and principled choices. This is precisely, the invitation of Zarathustra, the great Aryan Teacher of Truth and Right, when he tells us:

"Carefully listen to the best and highest things. Consider them with clear thinking. Then choose your belief, both men and women by yourselves, among the two minds. Before the great turning point, awaken and spread the one (and only) teaching, (of the Creator)"
[ Avesta: The Gathas: Song 3:2 (My Translation) ]
